Checkpoints:

First Task:
Get comfortable with your small group! You are going to participate in a "dinner party" - potentially one of the more cumbersome social gatherings you might have to endure as an adult. The problem with dinner parties is that there is SO MUCH time to talk and everyone wants to seem interesting. Your goal? **Dazzle** your small group. Each person will be in charge of entertaining the group for about 2 minutes. You need to prepare a conversation starter that will engage your small group. How can you get them to be excited, angry, frustrated, saddened, etc. enough to actually care about the discussion? On a sheet of paper or a notecard, log all of the topics that are brought up at your dinner party. Then, post your discussion topics to the class Padlet. |
Third Task:
Consider the topics that interest YOU the most and use those as a springboard for your research question. This paper should center around something you would like to know more about or are excited to talk at length about. Here is a document that provides a bank of ideas to start with - these are too general but you can use them as a starting place! Once you feel good about a topic, submit the Google Form linked here. |
To give you some ideas, here are a list of paper titles below:
